Why We Built This Site
Public access in Washington does not place every local case file in one database. The Whatcom County Superior Court Clerk maintains Superior Court filings and public minutes. Whatcom County District Court and the municipal courts in Bellingham and other cities maintain their own limited-jurisdiction files. Washington Courts Case Records Search is a useful index, and Odyssey Portal supplies public Superior Court case information, but the court of record remains authoritative. This site brings those distinctions, search paths, request steps, and local contact details together.
What You Will Find Here
- Case lookups: directions for searching by case number, party name, or business name through Washington's public systems
- Docket guides: explanations of how Whatcom criminal and civil docket entries are found and interpreted
- Record requests: practical guidance for requesting documents or certified copies from the clerk that actually holds the file
- Court dates and settings: help distinguishing an online calendar result from a date confirmed by the assigned court
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site, not a Washington court, clerk's office, or government agency. Those boundaries mean that we cannot:
- Issue a certified docket, order, or other court document
- Change, continue, or confirm a hearing date
- Remove, amend, redact, or seal a court record
- Retrieve an official file on a visitor's behalf
- Give legal advice about a filing, deadline, or case
- Promise that a fee, schedule, office hour, or contact detail has not changed
An official or certified record must come from its custodian. For a Superior Court matter, that is generally Raylene King, the Whatcom County Superior Court Clerk; District and municipal records must be requested from their separate clerks.
